Memory Care – Clinical Nurse Manager

 In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of nursing care for residents in the Memory Care Program, 24/7 accountability for business unit outcomes.

Role Specific

  • Ability to discipline or administer corrective action for employees per procedures and protocols
  • Ability to evaluate employees and retain/onboard new employees
  • Identify inefficiencies or issues with operating unit and implement solutions
  • Identify root causes to system breakdown; develop action plan and follow through until has been completed successfully
  • Ability to intervene and realign staff based on attendance and/or business needs
  • Manage budget; incidental OT, inventory for unit, etc.
  • Implementing and coordinating the delivery of care in collaboration with physician and resource health care personnel
  • Providing education and information relevant to care, to patients and families as appropriate
  • Interacting with other departments to ensure optimum patient care
  • Supervising other staff associates while on duty, and providing training and coaching in all aspects of the Memory Care Program
  • Ensure teamwork through the universal worker philosophy on unit
  • Take ownership and responsibility for resident care, anticipate needs and take proactive measures.
  • Take a detailed report from off going nurse
  • Follow physician’s order, medication administrating policy as it applies to safe administration of medication and treatments.
  • Maintains the medication and treatment carts and insure they are locked at all times when not in use.
  • Perform other treatments as related to patient care; example, suctioning, tube feeding, dressing change, tracheotomy, infection control as ordered by physician or the infection control coordinator.
  • Address all patients clinical care issues, customers’ service issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide patient teaching and evaluate the patient’s response to treatment and nursing intervention. Involve family and significant others as appropriate.
  • Document medication, treatment and other pertinent finding related to patient care appropriately.
  • Complete patient discharge, transfer, and patient admission/assessment in a timely manner ensuring completion of all documents.
  • Review admission records, identifying risk factors and implementation of appropriate clinical nursing interventions.
  • Ensuring medications and treatments are ordered in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

What you’ll bring to the table:


  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and 2 years
  • Related Memory Care experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Two (2) years of experience in a ALF
  • Valid Florida RN licensure and CPR certification

  • Familiarity with, and ability to respond to, all relevant emergency and evacuation codes and procedures

  • Ability to read, interpret and follow all safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience working with EMR



  • Current Clear and Active RN License in the State of Florida
  • BLS
  • ANCC or specialty certification preferred.
  • CPR Certification
