Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)


In this role, you will provide skilled occupational therapy services, on an intermittent or as-needed basis to patients in their homes. Working in tandem with physicians and other clinicians, and in accordance with physicians’ orders.


How to make an impact:

  • Identifies possible ineffective drug therapy or adverse reactions, significant side effects, drug allergies, and contra-indicated medication and reports to supervisor.
  • Advises and consults with family to potential for achievement of optimum potential of client.
  • Observes and records activities and findings in the clinical record and reporting to the physician the client's reaction to treatment and any changes in the client's condition.
  • Communicates effectively with all those providing care.
  • Guides and instructs the client in prescribed therapeutic self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving independence and physical and mental functioning.
  • Instructs client in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, splints, and prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Assists in teaching exercise programs to patient and family.

Job Requirements

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience
  • Active CPR license.

  • Experience in a Home Health environment.

  • Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, and proof of current auto insurance.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
