Purchasing Coordinator


The Purchasing Coordinator assists the Purchasing Agent with all aspects of purchasing receiving, inventory, and the delivering of supplies.

How to make an impact:

  • Responsible for managing the purchasing process for all supplies, equipment and services through completion.


  • Reconciles all invoices to be submitted for payment with applicable purchase orders and verifies signature compliance.


  • Responsible for taking inventory & refilling the Pyxis supply machines, along with stocking the nursing station with supplies not found in the Pyxis machine.


  • Maintains a clean & organized environment that is in compliance with departmental guidelines in all work aspects of the job.


  • Schedules and performs cleaning and preventative maintenance on various medical equipment; the oxygen concentrators, bed and chair monitors, nebulizers, and feeding pumps and records all pertinent information on the appropriate logs.


  • Maintains the quality and integrity of all medical equipment through inspections, repairs, realignments, adjustments, instillations, and quality control to prevent, identify, and solve problems.


  • Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications and receipt of items on purchase order and coordinates returns on all equipment and supplies as needed.


  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock and prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock and maintains constant inventory supply levels in Central Supply.


  • Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes and refusal of shipments.


  • Determines methods of storage according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.


  • Responsible for the operation and training of the digital copier.


  • Maintains the service and preventative maintenance schedules for all copy, fax, folder/inserter, and shredding machines.


  • Follows proper safety procedures while performing assigned duties



Job Requirements

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
