Assistant Nurse Manager


 

In this role, you will work in our state of the art facility with focus on patient centered care that caters to Short Term Programming.

How to make an impact:

 

  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of nursing care for a group of patients and managing the assigned unit during the assigned shift.
  • Identify root causes to system breakdown; develop action plan and follow through with it until it has been fully completed
  • Ability to evaluate employees and retain/onboard new employees
  • Manage teams effectively; ability to discipline or administer corrective action for employees per procedures and protocols
  • Gather data required for patient assessment
  • Take a detailed unit report from off going nurse
  • Make rounds on to identify any areas of concerns and supervise resident care
  • Take ownership and responsibility for resident care, anticipate needs and take proactive measures while addressing all patient clinical care issues as well as customer service issues in a timely manner
  • Perform other treatments as related to patient care; example, suctioning, tube feeding, dressing change, infection control as ordered by physician or the infection control coordinator.
  • Provide patient teaching and evaluate the patient’s response to treatment and nursing intervention. Involve family and significant others as appropriate.
  • Complete patient discharge and transfer process in a timely manner ensuring completion of all documents
  • Complete patient admission in a timely manner, reviewing admission records, identifying risk factors and implementation of appropriate clinical nursing interventions
  • Notify physician on call/responsible party of any clinical concerns and following apparent recommendations
  • Gather all pertinent information and complete incident report appropriately, notifying physicians and responsible party
  • Provide high standard of care by auditing and ensuring compliance in resident care area
  • Delegate and assist medication nurses when possible
  • Meet with your staff on a regular basis to discuss goals, issues and problem solving
  • Supervise while residents are in the dining rooms and during activities

Job Requirements

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and 2 years related SNF experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 1 year of previous leadership experience required
  • Valid Florida RN and CPR
  • Familiarity with, and ability to respond to, all relevant emergency and evacuation codes and procedures
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow all safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working with EMR

 

*Every other weekend availability required*

*This is an Evening position--3:00pm to 11:30pm*
