Restorative Nurse

In this role, you will work in our state of the art facility with a focus on the patient centered care that relates to Restorative Nursing.

How to make an impact:

  • Assists and participates in the development, organization and implementation of the objectives, policies, procedures and standards of restorative nursing care in accordance with the goals of the facility.
  • Makes daily rounds to evaluate resident restorative care and to assure the on-going review, evaluation, and decision making regarding the services needed to maintain or improve resident’s abilities in accordance with the resident’s comprehensive assessment, goals and preferences.
  • Monitor the progress of individual residents who are receiving the restorative services.
  • Remains cognizant of legal aspects of nursing practice, as well as regulations; demonstrates this in teaching, supervision, and evaluation of restorative program and resident care.
  • Assures, upon admissions, new Short Term Stay patients receive an initial evaluation or screen by therapy for restorative services. All LTC resident receive an evaluation and/or screen upon admission, quarterly and with any significant change.
  • Works with Rehab and Nursing in the development of a restorative plan of care.
  • Assures that all restorative nursing measures reflected on the care plan are being performed.
  • Reviews weekly documentation completed for residents receiving restorative services. Ensures that all proper ADL documentation has been completed for residents.
  • Attends care planning conferences as appropriate.
  • Attends Interdisciplinary/QAPI meetings as an ad hoc member.
  • Coordinates with the Clinical Education Department to orient new staff relative to roles, responsibilities, principles and practices of restorative nursing.
  • Coordinates with Clinical Education Department and Therapy to provide ongoing education/evaluation of direct care staff relative to roles, responsibilities, principles and practices of restorative nursing.

Job Requirements

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and a minimum of 2 Years’ experience in the field.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Valid Florida State Board of Nursing RN License
  • Valid CPR Certification
  • 2 years of related clinical experience.
