Clinical Education Coordinator

In this role, you will provide/train new hires on how to provide skilled nursing care on a regular and ongoing basis .

How to make an impact:

  • Orients new Clinical Staff as required; Participates in the onboarding of new employees.
  • Leads, schedules, tracks attendance, lectures and provides updated content as needed in classroom orientation for new staff and visiting students.
  • Observes care on the unit; critiques and makes recommendations for improvements; provides weekly in-service topic (UTI prevention, Fall prevention, Pressure Ulcer, Transfers)
  • Assists with obtaining Level I and II Dementia Training Certification. Provide Lift Training certifications for all staff.
  • Ability to assess and verify competency.
  • Mentors current staff who have performance care issues.
  • Assists with clinical staff continuing education and training. Monitors annual competency report for all clinical areas.
  • Performs job responsibilities of unit LPN if needed.
  • Advanced computer skills and data entry. Provides Technical Support for: Versus badge programming, portable phones and Pyxis supply stations
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service. Positive attitude
  • Utilize and leverage key expertise and data to inform strategies to improve antibiotic use. This includes tracking antibiotic starts, monitoring adherence during the evaluation and management of treated infections, and reviewing antibiotic resistant patterns.

Job Requirements

• Associates Degree in Practical Nursing, RN or BSN;

• Current Florida RN/LPN License & Current CPR/BLS Card

• IV certification required for LPN's

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing Facility, or Hospital

•  Ability to communicate clearly through written, electronic, and verbal means

• Possesses leadership qualities – ability to lead and direct others
