Supervisor Hospice Billing

The Hospice Billing Supervisor is responsible for reporting of statistical data and identifies trends and improvements in processes. This role is responsible for training all new personnel in the areas of insurance verification, Medicaid, self-pay, insurance billings Medicaid managed care authorization, as well as receivable flow.  

 

How to make an impact:

  • Train all new personnel in the areas of insurance verification, Medicaid, self-pay, insurance billings Medicaid managed care authorization, as well as receivable flow.

 

  • Research and obtain patient information. Review and evaluate potential Medicaid eligibility.

 

  • Process Medicaid application for Medicaid application for MorseLife Health System Hospice patients and serve as a liaison for Medicaid applications.

 

  • Complete Florida Access on-Line web applications and submit supporting documentation as appropriate.

 

  • Serve as point of contact for Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance protocol training.

 

  • Assist in monthly billing reconciliation for all pay sources.

 

  • Verify benefits, obtain proper authorizations and distribute information to appropriate staff.

 

  • Maintain Commercial Insurance Contracts and notify the director of any needed changes, expirations or updates.
  • Knowledgeable of the following software for efficiency, productivity and reporting functions: Allscripts, Excel, Fortis, EDS, Access, EZ Claim, and DDE.  

 

  • Additional duties as directed.

Job Requirements

  • What you’ll bring to the table:

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Hospice Billing.

 

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
